Headwaters Center and River Journey, is a non-profit organization dedicated to water conservation, education and community outreach. Headwaters Center is seeking a “hands-on” Events Manager for its multi-purpose facility, which is available to rent for weddings or corporate meetings. In addition to that, the center hosts a variety of community and education events each month. The center also houses Headwaters River Journey, a one-of-a-kind water museum with 31 interactive exhibits. The center has over 10,000 square feet of interior public space plus an outdoor amphitheater that seats approximately 600.

Events Manager will work on site in Winter Park, Colorado and reports directly to the General Manager and Event Sales Manager.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Oversee day of event needs and efficiently read a Banquet Event Order (BEO) and execute the event.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and staff during an event to ensure proper execution of event details.
  • Inventory and Ordering of liquor, linens, and other necessary items.
  • Oversee set-up and tear down of events.
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings.
  • Support Senior Manager in planning and executing Headwaters Hosted events on a monthly basis.

Skills Required:

  • 3 Years of event management experience. College degree preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Positive attitude and team oriented
  • Reliable source of transportation
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat. Comfort with Facebook and Instagram social media postings.

Events Manager will be responsible for the day of operations for events at Headwaters Center including ordering necessary products, managing staff, and proper execution of BEO details.  Successful candidates will be highly self-motivated with 3 years of event management experience. Strong organizational and communication skills needed.  College degree preferred. Position commences April 2020. Competitive salary and benefits.
