Have Reopened to the Public

We’re excited to welcome you back! As we explore our new normal together and welcome staff, volunteers, and guests back into our physical spaces, we’re taking extra precautions—from physical distancing to increased disinfecting.

How Can We Reopen Safely?
• Working with Grand County and the state, we are complying with all guidelines and requirements related to COVID-19.
• BUT it is only with your cooperation as a visitor that we can succeed in this re-opening. We ask that you please respect the following state and local rules to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for all.

All Events and River Journey Tour Protocols:
• Visitors will not be permitted if they are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms and/or have been exposed to COVID-19 in the previous 14 days.
• Adequate face coverings are required for entry. Masks will be available for purchase.
• Handwashing will be required at entry and available at the exit.
• Please practice social distancing, staying at least six feet away from visitors not in your party.
• Indoor drinking fountains will not be accessible. Please bring your own water.
• Please inform us if a wheelchair is needed.
• Weather permitting, events will take place either outdoors or with barn doors open for adequate airflow.

Staff Health Requirements:
• All staff will be required to wear masks and gloves.
• All staff will have temperature checked at the beginning of their shift.
• Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be sent home immediately.
• Staff who have symptoms or have come in contact with someone who has symptoms must stay home and self-quarantine.

Headwaters River Journey Tours

Experience our exciting and educational water and wildlife museum! Tours are self-guided through our 31 immersive exhibits.

Operating Hours: Thursday – Monday: 9am – 5pm

Are Walk-Ins Welcome?
• Since only one group at a time is allowed to tour the exhibits, we cannot gaurantee availability for walk-ins.
• Reservations are recommended.

What Should I Know Before I Visit?
• Headwaters River Journey reservations will be capped to 10 people of the same family unit at a time.
• Entry will be timed in 1-hour blocks.
• Please arrive within 10 minutes of your selected time to check-in at the front desk.
• Visitors will not be allowed entry without an adequate face covering. Masks are available for purchase.
• Handwashing will be required at entry and available upon exiting.
• Please practice social distancing, staying at least six feet away from visitors not in your party.
• Indoor drinking fountains will not be accessible. Please bring your own water.
