Headwaters River Journey is Gradually Reopening to the Public

Our reopening date will be announced soon! We will be offering private tours for you to experience our exciting and educational water and wildlife museum! Tours will be for groups of 9 or less, led by a tour guide, and by appointment only. Each interactive exhibit will be demonstrated by the tour guide. Tickets are temporarily discounted by 25% and kids are free!

How can Headwaters River Journey open safely?
• Working with Grand County and the state, we are complying with all guidelines and requirements related to COVID-19.
• BUT it is only with your cooperation as a visitor that we can succeed in this re-opening. We ask your help in following the procedures outlined here.

How can I reserve a ticket?
• Please call (720) 217-4095 or email info@headwaterscenter.com to reserve a private tour. Tickets will not be available at the center.

What should I know before I visit?
• Visitation will be capped to 9 people in a group at a time. Entry will be timed in 1 ½ hour blocks. Please arrive within 10 minutes of your selected time to check into the front desk.
• A designated tour guide/COVID manager will be assigned to each tour group and will be required to wear a mask. All museum surfaces will be cleaned before and after each tour group.
• Municipal requirements for masks will be enforced. Visitors will not be allowed entry without an adequate face covering. Masks will be available for purchase.
• Handwashing will be required at entry and available at the exit.
• Please practice social distancing, staying at least six feet away from visitors not in your party.
• Indoor drinking fountains will not be accessible. Please bring your own water.
• Please inform us if a wheelchair is needed.

Staff Health Requirements:
• All staff will be required to wear mask and gloves.
• All staff will have temperature checked at the beginning of their shift.
• Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be sent home and tour may be canceled if staff can’t be replaced at that time.
• Staff who have symptoms or have come in contact with someone who has symptoms must stay home and self-quarantine.
